I was looking for something

But I was not finding it;

I came there looking on my own

or was it you who called me;

winding through the serpent pathways

I ran uphill and down in the valley.

In the lands I have only heard of

habitated only by folks like you;

did I get mesmerized by the looks

or by the thoughts I never knew.

Wandering on hilltops looking for you

plunged into gorges which only water dared;

caught your glimpses through the white veil

sounds of your giggle and nothing I cared.

And now that I have to go

your memories ride back with me;

I don’t know if I need to come back

for I’m leaving myself in thee.
